Introduction
Skincare is very important to get clear, bright, poreless and youthful skin. It includes many steps such as cleansing with facewash, moisturizing and sun-protection. Every step has its own importance. We can’t say that one step is important but the other is not really.
In skincare we start with washing the face. Face washing with the right steps and way is very important. And for me this thing changed the game in attaining a good skin.
Side Effects of Bad Cleansing
Washing a face is not important but cleaning it properly has a worth. If we wash our face with a cleanser infused with harsh chemicals can cause skin barrier damage and dryness. It can also cause acne and radness.
But if we wash with a facewash that is not cleaning properly then our skin will get breakouts, dull skin and oiliness. Thus for me choosing a good cleanser is very important.
Choosing a Right Facewash
Everyone has a different skin type and they require a face wash according to it. Only this action can be good for you or harmful.
Different Skin Type People
If Dry skin type people use exfoliating and AHA/BHA based cleansers then their barrier will be disrupted. So they should use a mild one like a possible calming cleanser.
For Oily Skin
If a person has oily skin but he/she still uses a mild facewash then he will get acne and oil more. Thus for these people a facewash is required which is infused with niacinamide, lactic acid, glycolic acid or salicylic acid. But if they had sensitive skin along with oily skin then milder one would be a good option but should have niacinamide.
Products For Oily and Sensitive Skin

For oily skin type i’ll recommend accuafix facewash because it has salicylic acid which will fight against oil and black/white heads. But for those who have sensitive skin along with oily skin then I’ll recommend using safrin brightening face wash but only at night or at alternative nights.
I personally use this cleanser when my skin barrier was disturbed. When you see its ingredients then you will see actives like glycolic and lattice but it is present in less amount which will not be harsh on skin. So according to my experience it will work great for oily+ sensitive skin.
For Combinational Skin
I personally have combinational skin so never put a single cleanser on my face. Instead of only using mild cleanser or deep cleansing (having actives) i prefer to choose both. As i always buy possible calming cleanser along with safrin brightening cleanser. This duo help me so much. Only using milder makes my skin oily and only using safrin cleanser my skin get dry. So all day i use possible facewash amd a night i use other one. This way of use made my skin very healthy with no oiliness and dryness.
If You Don’t Have a Budget to Buy Facewash?
Don’t have a lot of money is normal and sometime we can’t afford skincare but are need to get products. Thus i’ll tell you some easy way to make your own cleansers at home. I also have a youtube channel at which i make useful vedios at basic level. If want to check it out click here: Youtube.
When it’s comes to pricing minum every product is above than 1000 Rs. Just calculate a basic skin care as cleanser=1000, moisturizer=1000, sunblock=1000, serums= 1000. Then it is about 4000. But believe me i added minimum rupees it will more than this. And each moth need this money.
If you buy a cleanser of 1000 Rs then it will last for 1 month ut think about it what if a cleanserr last about 6 months with just 1500 Rs? I think it would be a best choice. It is a best practice which i come to know when I was lacking money.
How to Make a Face Wash at Home?
Making facewash at home is very easy for me and i’ll sure that you will also take it easy to make. Here i’m making two types of facewashes . Both will be mild but one with more cleansing then other. Choice will be yours that which type of product your skin needs.
Main Ingredients
To make face wash we require some humectants, surfactants, preservatives, ph adjusters. These are very basic ingredients and cost very less. I’ll also attach the website from which i used to buy products.
In humectants i prefer to use glycerin because it is cheap and effective. While in surfactant i am using Decyl Glucoside,Cocamidopropyl Betaine. These two are mild but effective in making leather and cleaning property.
Along with these we also need a thickener like xanthan gum, a preservative like (Euxyl PE 9010) and ph adjusters like citric acid. We are using citric acid because these surfactants are alkaline in nature.

Required Equipments And Materials
To make products we should need some equipment and materials which are necessary. It will be a one time investment and you do not need to buy again and again. That will be beakers, spatula, ph strips or ph meter and measuring instruments. Once you buy them then you will not be able to buy them again and again. Just believe in me!
Method
Ingredients
Distilled Water | 70% |
Decyl Glucoside | 13% |
Cocamidopropyl Betaine | 3% |
Glycerin | 3% |
Xanthan Gum | 0.3% |
Allantoin | 0.5% |
Preservative (Euxyl PE 9010) | 1% |
pH Adjuster (Citric Acid) | As needed |
Procedure #1
- First of all, take a beaker and add xanthun gum. In this add allantoin.
- Allantoin is too good for the skin.
- Then add glycerin and mix well. Mix until the powders dissolve completely. Then add water in it. Now add the decyl glucoside and mix well.
- After that add the preservative.
- Preservatives are required so that our facewash doesn’t spoil.
- Now it’s time to check the ph.
- If Ph is higher then add a few drops of citric acid..
- This will lower the pH of the solution.
- A ph meter is required to analyze the pH.
- Continue adding citric acid until its pH becomes 4.5-5.5.

Procedure #2
This is the same as above but the only thing which we will introduce in it is another surfactant. This is Cocamidopropyl Betaine. This surfactant will help to boost the form and high cleansing property. We will add this one in a different way.
For this two beakers are required.
Mix the water, allantoin, glycerin and xanthan gum in one beaker according to the above instruction. Then in another beaker add these two surfactants like Cocamidopropyl Betaine and decyl glucoside. Mix them well then pour it in the first beaker. Mix them well then do the next steps as mentioned in procedure 1.
