Every skin type has different problems and issues and thus gives different solutions. Today we’ll discuss the best skin care for dry skin. Contrary to oily skin it is tricky to handle during winters. And this type of skin can easily get irritated due to low levels of hydration. So it’s best to know how to handle this skin type.
Best Ingredients For Dry Skin
Here I will tell you the best ingredients which will suit the dry skin so much. I personally used them specially when I was prescribed a tretinoin by my dermatologist. At that time my skin was very dry and very sensitive. So to recover my damaged barrier I used the below ingredients.
They work well for my dry skin. I also suggest my cousin who has dry skin. Her skin also gets plumpy, hydrated and youthful after the use of below ingredients. All skin type people can use it but for dry skin they are a blessing.
Hyaluronic Acid
The first ingredient is hyaluronic acid and I suggest this one to all. Because hydration is required for every skin. Oily skin has to avoid heavy oils but not humectants. But for dry skin these hydrating ingredients are a must. Hyaluronic acid will help to attain the water level in the skin layer.
Dry skin easily escapes water which leads to dryness. So hyaluronic acid will help to lock the hydration. Below are some of my recommendations but you can use any serum which suits you. I mean different brands have different formulations and not only ingredients but formulation also depends on product’s quality.

Ceramides & Peptides
Some ingredients which help to support the skin barrier are ideal for dry skin and among them some are ceramides and peptides. Both help to strengthen the skin barrier. As we all know, dry skin ages fast.
Because if the skin is dehydrated then it can get easily affected by sun, so will age fast. These ingredients will help in anti-aging along with a simple hydration. They comes with different types and every type is beneficial. So just pick them to treat dry skin like a pro.
Lactic Acid & Urea
Every skin needs exfoliation to get rid of old dead skin. Because after exfoliation our skin feels smooth and radiant. That’s why exfoliation is very important. So there are many exfoliators which help people to get smooth skin.
But not all exfoliators are for everyone. Dry skin people have to choose the one which is mild and also hydrating. Among glycolic acid, lactic acid and Mandelic acid I prefer to choose the second one. The reason is that besides it is a mild exfoliator it is also hydrated. Thus it helps a lot. You can also use mandelic acid but my preference is lactic acid.

Along with lactic acid urea also helps in hydration. So if a person has intense dryness they should use urea. If a person needs exfoliation then try to use urea lotion above 10%. But if for only hydration and moisturization use 5%. Below I’ll recommend my favorite products. Among them one has both urea and lactic acid.
Best Products For Dry Skin
Among many brands I choose some products for dry skin care. These products would be like facewash, moisturizer and sunblock. As for serums I recommend some ingredients above.
Facewash
When it comes to facewash I always prefer mild facewash for this skin type. If they use facewashes infused with AHA and BHA then their skin will get irritated. They can use a facewash infused with exfoliators but once a week.
And if they are using serums like that then choose one between serum and facewash. But for 6 days a week they have to apply calming and mild facewash but I only twice a day. Below are some of my favorite facewash. But if you wanted to make it home then click here.

Moisturizers
There are many moisturizers in the market like heavy cream moisturizers, lotions, and light moisturizers. They all are for different people having different skin. And when it comes to dry ones then I prefer them to choose lotion and heavy moisturizer. Because when there are intense winters they need some thick moisturizers infused with urea, ceramides, panthenol and butters.
And during summers they need moisturizer like lotions because they are not too heavy and light. Thus both types are best for them. But in Pakistan there is a season like the moon soon and here they need a light moisturizer.
During this time the weather is very humid and nobody feels dryness including these specific people. So all the moisturizers can be used by them but know the best weather to apply the specific one. Below is my recommendation of every moisturizer for every weather.
Sunscreen
Like moisturizer sunblock also has three types like physical sunscreen, hybrid and chemical sunscreen. And like moisturizer dry skin types can choose all of these sunblock according to weather. In my personal experience these people need just two, like a physical and hybrid one.
But both of them are not ideal to wear beneath make up.so for make up purpose chemical sunscreen works best. In this way all types can be used by them. Physical sunscreen feels heavy thus it should be used during winter and during summers they can use hybrid and chemical according to their choice and needs. But pregnant ladies should avoid the chemical one.

This is the rule of cleansing that we have to do oil cleansing for 4 minutes, 2 minutes for foaming cleansing then 4 minutes to cleanse with water. By this way we can do better cleansing.
In my opinion it is metaphil, cetaphil, ceraVe, simple and the ordinary. They are best for dry skin.
Vitamin C has no problem with any skin type. It can suit dry, oily and combination skin. But the problem is that many people are allergic to it so before applying just do a patch test.
