Righteous Person Noah And Corrupt World
Noah was God’s righteous person who built the ark. God chose him as His prophet to convey messages and instructions to people. He lived for many years, about 950 years. That’s why we can judge his struggles and hardships.
He was the son of Lamech and had three sons named Shem, Ham and Japheth. Among these sons God chooses among shem’s descendants as prophets. Noah was a pious, righteous and hard working servant of God thats why he was a chosen person.
In that era people got astray and indulged in many bad and evil habits. Due to their actions God gets really disappointed and decides to punish them. Noah addressed the nation about punishment so that they can adopt good instead of bad. But unfortunately they were dumb and stubborn so they didn’t hear him and stayed astray.

Obedience of Noah
Due to anger and disappointment God decided to perish them that is why he told Noah about his plans. God told him that He is going to send strom on people. To protect him, righteous people and animals, God instructed him to build an ark. The purpose of ark building was to protect speechless animals and good people because the flood was only for bad ones.
As we all know that Noah was an obedient and righteous person so he accepted God’s words and got ready to build an ark. He was about 500 years old when the order of God was revealed. He took about 100 years to complete the proper building of the ark.

Genesis 6:22

Genesis 7:5
And Noah did all that the Lord commanded him.
Construction of Ark By Noah
As I mentioned earlier He was ordered by God to build an ark so he accepted it and started building the ark. He had to make it huge so that people, animals and his family could fit in it.
The name of the wood by which it is made is mysterious because in some versions the wood is of gopher but in others it was cypress wood. Gopher wood is not known by any of us thus may be cypress wood was the right one.
In ark building Noah’s sons also helped him with cutting and bringing the wood. With the children’s help Him made the ark. The ark was 300 cubits long, 30 cubits high and 50 cubits wide. It had three floors with many rooms.

Genesis 6:15-16
This is how you are to build it: The ark is to be three hundred cubits long, fifty cubits wide and thirty cubits high. Make a roof for it, leaving below the roof an opening one cubit high all around. Put a door in the side of the ark and make lower, middle and upper decks.
Genesis 6:19-21
You are to bring into the ark two of all living creatures, male and female, to keep them alive with you. Two of every kind of bird, of every kind of animal and of every kind of creature that moves along the ground will come to you to be kept alive. You are to take every kind of food that is to be eaten and store it away as food for you and for them.”
Hebrews 11:7

Coming of Great Flood
Before the flood came He gathered pairs of clean and unclean animals and birds in the ark. He also gathered people who were righteous and his family. When all of them were in it God sent the great flood.
God sent this flood while continuously raining for 40 days and nights. Water covers the whole earth and destroys everything except the ark and life in it. The flood water was very deep and covered mostly mountains.
Genesis 7:11-12
In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, on the seventeenth day of the second month—on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened. And rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights.
Genesis 7:17-20
For forty days the flood kept coming on the earth, and as the waters increased they lifted the ark high above the earth. The waters rose and increased greatly on the earth, and the ark floated on the surface of the water. They rose greatly on the earth, and all the high mountains under the entire heavens were covered. The waters rose and covered the mountains to a depth of more than fifteen cubits.
Genesis 7:23
Every living thing on the face of the earth was wiped out; people and animals and the creatures that move along the ground and the birds were wiped from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those with him in the ark.

Genesis 7:1
The Lord then said to Noah, “Go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteous in this generation.
Resting of Noah’s Ark
Floods covered the earth for about 40 days and nights. During this time all the evil things and people were finished. After this the cause of flood means rain and springs the water starts to flow away.
Gradually the water was going low and the ship of people’s shelters went downwards. On earth there was a mountain whose name was Ararat on which the ark stayed for many days.
As Noah was on a mountain he couldn’t figure out the earth’s situation so firstly he sent a raven towards earth and then dove. The Dove came back this shows that the water was present and she can’t find a place to rest.
After a few days he sent her back to know the situation and that time dove came with a leaf. According to the bible the leaf was of an olive tree. The presence of trees shows that the water is not present but he chose to stay more days.
When he had stayed for some days and again sent a dove to see if she would’ve come or not. At that time dove didn’t come, which shows that now earth is full of life, greenery, plants and trees. So he decided to go to earth.

Genesis 8:1-4
But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded. Now the springs of the deep and the floodgates of the heavens had been closed, and the rain had stopped falling from the sky. The water receded steadily from the earth. At the end of the hundred and fifty days the water had gone down, and on the seventeenth day of the seventh month the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat.
Genesis 8:6-12
After forty days Noah opened a window he had made in the ark and sent out a raven, and it kept flying back and forth until the water had dried up from the earth. Then he sent out a dove to see if the water had receded from the surface of the ground. But the dove could find nowhere to perch because there was water over all the surface of the earth; so it returned to Noah in the ark. He reached out his hand and took the dove and brought it back to himself in the ark. He waited seven more days and again sent out the dove from the ark. When the dove returned to him in the evening, there in its beak was a freshly plucked olive leaf! Then Noah knew that the water had receded from the earth. He waited seven more days and sent the dove out again, but this time it did not return to him.
Genesis 8:15-16
Then God said to Noah, “Come out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and their wives.
Covenant of God
After the flood had gone, God told him to come out from the ark and step on earth. After many days he was able to touch earth with his feet. He stepped out on the earth and the atmosphere was very fresh and clear.
At that time there was a rainbow in the sky which reflected a beautiful sign. After that God addressed Noah and said that his anger and bad is over now and he is going to make a covenant to never punish people with this great flood.
After this news all of them were very happy and were ready to start a new life. In the thankfulness Noah and his sons bow down to God and they were very happy on this covenant.

Genesis 9:8-11
Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him: “I now establish my covenant with you and with your descendants after you and with every living creature that was with you—the birds, the livestock and all the wild animals, all those that came out of the ark with you—every living creature on earth. I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.”
Genesis 9:12-13
And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.
Genesis 9:16-17
Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.” So God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth.”
Life After The Great Flood
After the flood and God’s covenant they start to live a normal life. Noah chose to do farming. He grows many crops, vegetables and fruits in his garden. There was also a vine of grapes from which he made wine.
In history Noah was the founder of wine and also the first who experienced the effects of it on human’s body. He made wine and drank it. After a few times he became unconscious and layed on the ground naked without a cloth.
His one son saw him in this terrible situation and despite help he told his brother. His two brothers helped his father and covered him up so that nobody could see him naked. Due to his son’s act who didn’t help him, Noah cursed him and praised others.
Genesis 9:20-21
Noah, a man of the soil, proceeded to plant a vineyard. When he drank some of its wine, he became drunk and lay uncovered inside his tent.

Genesis 9:24-25
When Noah awoke from his wine and found out what his youngest son had done to him, he said, “Cursed be Canaan! The lowest of slaves will he be to his brothers.”
Genesis 9:28-29
After the flood Noah lived 350 years. Noah lived a total of 950 years, and then he died.
Lesson From Noah’s Life
Noah’s life has a lot of lessons for us. His life is a great example of hope, faith, righteousness, hard work, thankfulness, patience, mercy and courage. He lived about 950 years but only 8 people believe in him. This shows that no matter how less is the outcome we should struggle hard till death.
His son was not there to help his father during difficult times so remain cursed. This shows that we should do mercy and help people when they are in difficult situations.
Hebrews 11:7
By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that is in keeping with faith.
Matthew 24:37-39
As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.
2 Peter 3:5-6
But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed.
Romans 15:4
For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.
